The Beach Boys first became famous in the early sixties with their hit “Surfin”. They have had decades of success and popularity since then. Teräsbetoni is a heavy metal band from Finland with a warrior-like style that has strong similarities to bands like Manowar. The word “teräsbetoni” is Finnish and means “reinforced concrete”. The band was formed in 2003. In 2005, Terasbetoni released their debut album Metallitotuus (Metal Truth). It was quite popular, reaching the second place on the Finnish list and staying on th elist for 29 weeks.

In 2008, Terasbetoni had already established itself as a significant band in the Finnish heavy metal scene, but it was still relatively unknown internationally. But during that year, the band got a great chance to change that. They were selected as Finland’s representative in the 2008 Eurovision song contest with their song Missä Miehet Ratsastaa. Teräsbetoni got the 8th plase during the semi-finals but in the Eurovision finals, their position was 22nd. This still gave them a lot of publicity and new fans worldwide.

The members of the band are Jarkko Ahola (vocals, bass guitar), Arto Järvinen (guitar, vocals), Viljo Rantanen (guitar), and Jari Kuokkanen (drums). Terasbetoni has released three albums to this date.

As was already mentioned, the album Metallitotuus was Terasbetoni’s debut album. The contents of the album are as follows:

Jack Johnson’s career change from a pro surfer to a singer and songwriter may be somehwat unusual, but an increasing number of people are happy about this decision, since it has enabled them to enjoy Johnson’s simple and soft acoustic surfer-rock music. Jack Johson is the vocalist and the guitarist in his band, while other band members are Adam Topol (drums, percussion), Merlo Podlewski (bass) and Zach Gill (piano, precussion).

Being 35 years of age, Johson has a lot of time to gain popularity and produce more albums, but he has already had a great start, having produced five studio albums. Johnson’s 2006 album Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the film Curious George sold over 150.000 copies in the first week after its release. This soundtrack from the film Curious George was his first album to reach the first place in album charts. The same happened again in with Johnson’s fifth album, Sleep Through the Static, which reached the first place in both US and UK album charts.

Merle Haggard is a legendary country musician with amazing vocal performance abilities and an unrivaled interpretive mastery. At the age of 73, Haggard is still continuing his career which has lasted over 50 years and during which he has produced tens of albums and has won many awards.
